The discipline construction of industrial design in local colleges and universities needs to seek for a characteristic path fitting for the actual conditions under the background of innovation talent training required. This paper focuses on student design studio as a way of educational reform and suggests its advantages and disadvantages as well as improvement solutions in Xihua University, through adopting questionnaire and analyzing the predicament in the discipline construction.
