Abstract:
The main purpose of this study is to analyze the issue of Indian food crisis. The analysis has been made by examining the reasons for food crisis; existing trends in production of food crops, state wise procurement of wheat and rice, per capita availability of food grains; trends in price rise of food grains, genesis of crisis and the fears that Indian planners are having in mind. The paper also deals with the current trends and economic impact.
